About Sunlight of the Spirit
Dedicated to Helping Families in Crisis due to Drug & Alcohol Dependence, SOS is formed by the Founder's Struggle with the Family Disease of Addiction.
The SOS program is the vision of its Executive Director, Diane Hurd. Diane struggled for 16 years, dealing with the family disease of addiction. She sought professional help and attended the family program at Hazelden in Center City, Minnesota. She was so inspired that she began her own action-oriented family recovery plan. Diane believed that more could be done to help suffering families, and wanted to design a program just for families of alcoholics and addicts. The SOS program is based on the family programs at Hazelden,The Betty Ford Center, Caron, and Sierra Tucson.
